Application Process

Currently, we offer five week-long sessions each year. Honoring Our Veterans covers the cost of airfare, transportation, lodging, meals, activities and equipment, so there is no cost to the wounded veteran. During our sessions we maximize the healing potential of nature. We are fortunate to have an amazing volunteer staff of expert instructors and guides who are constantly willing to help with this mission.

We strive to improve the quality of life for disabled veterans by utilizing different recreational therapies.  All activities are designed to increase the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning levels of our disabled veterans, and to help them lead a more independent life.  Northwestern Wyoming is an ideal location for a recreational therapy program because of our pristine public lands, and unsurpassed variety of outdoor activities.

It is our goal to help as many disabled veterans as possible.  Our group size for one session is roughly six veterans.  We also have support staff travel with the veterans in order to ensure that we can comfortably handle any needs that may arise.

We recognize and appreciate that the quality of life we enjoy today is due to the sacrifices of all those who have served.  It is our duty and responsibility as citizens of this great country to in turn care for those who come home wounded and disabled.

In addition to helping combat wounded veterans who are receiving treatment through the VA Medical Centers, Honoring Our Veterans is currently working with the Brooke Army Medical Center Wounded Warrior Transition Unit and the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battalion Detachment. This enables us to reach wounded Soldiers and Marines at every stage of their recovery.

Although we are working closely with these organizations to identify candidates for our program, we would also love to hear from you if you believe that you could benefit from one of our sessions.  You can download the application by clicking on the button below.  Please fill out the application completely and obtain the required medical signatures before returning your application to either the mailing address or e-mail address:
