We strive to improve the quality of life for disabled veterans returning from OEF/OIF by utilizing different recreational therapies. All activities are designed to increase the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning levels of our disabled veterans, and to help them lead a more independent life. Northwestern Wyoming is an ideal location for a recreational therapy program because of our pristine public lands, and unsurpassed variety of outdoor activities.
It is our goal to help as many disabled veterans as possible. Our group size for one session is roughly seven veterans. We also have support staff travel with the veterans in order to ensure that we can comfortably handle any needs that may arise.
We recognize and appreciate that the quality of life we enjoy today is due to the sacrifices of all those who have served. It is our duty and responsibility as citizens of this great country to in turn care for those who come home wounded and disabled.
In addition to helping combat wounded veterans who are receiving treatment through the VA Medical Centers, Honoring Our Veterans is currently working with the Brooke Army Medical Center Wounded Warrior Transition Unit and the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battalion Detachment. This enables us to reach wounded Soldiers and Marines at every stage of their recovery.
